ISUF Conference 2008. Landscape and urban form

ISUF Conference 2008

ISUF will hold an international conference in Artimino, near Florence, Italy, in the XVI century Medicean Villa, from 21 to 23 of November 2008.  The broad theme of the conference will be Landscape and urban form.  The conference will showcase current research and practice in urban morphology in several different countries.

Urban morphologists wishing to present a paper at the conference should contact Professor Gian Luigi Maffei, Dipartmento di Progettazione dell’Architectura, Università degli Studi di Firenze, Viale Gramsci 42, 50132 Firenze, Italy (e-mail: gianluigimaffei@libero.it).  Proposals of papers should have the following format: name of author(s), affiliation, postal address, e-mail address, telephone number, fax number, title of paper and an abstract of about 250 words.  The deadline for the receipt of proposals is 1 July 2008.

The number of places at the conference will be limited and acceptance for attendance will be on a first come, first served basis.

The registration fee is 300 euros per person.  This includes two lunches (on 22 and 23 November) and two dinners (on 21 and 22 November) and subscription to ISUF (including free issues of the journal Urban Morphology).  The registration fee must be paid by not later than 31 July 2008.  Please state your name and make a bank transfer to the following account ARTIMINO Meeting CISPUT ONLUS (IBAN  IT 25 S 03400 02800 000000430764  BIC TOSCIT3F200).

On payment of the registration fee, please e-mail the following information to gianluigimaffei@libero.it: name, affiliation, postal address, e-mail address, telephone number and fax number.

Participants are expected to make their own travelling and accommodation arrangements.  The hotel cost in Artimino is 100 euros for a double room (bed and breakfast) per night, or 80 euros for a single room (bed and breakfast) per night.  Reservations can be made by e-mail to: amministrazione@artimino.com or fax: 0039 055 87 51480

Decisions on the acceptance of papers will be communicated to applicants by 15 July 2008 and acceptance will be contingent upon advance registration.  Definitive papers should be submitted by 15 September 2008.  Information is available on ISUF website (www.urbanform.org).
